FROM THE DESK OF FR. DAN...... Thank you to everyone who attended our synod session last Wednesday. Special thanks to Sr. Rosalie for leading this session for us, for accompanying us in walking the synodal path and for infusing a spirit of synodality in our parish. This Monday, July 25, is feast day of St. Christopher, our patronal feast. St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers and motorists. It is also a special feast for me because both my grandfathers and my father retired from General Motors (Saginaw Parts Plant, Saginaw Transmission and Saginaw Steering Gear), both of my brothers work for General Motors (Fairfax Assembly, Kansas) and I worked in the Saginaw steering plants a couple summers during college. In Paris near where the first Citroën automo&ve factory was located the local parish is dedicated to St. Christopher (Paroisse Saint Christophe de Javel). The factory has since been closed and has been turned into a park, but the parish till exists. To commemorate our patronal feast we will have a blessing of automobiles after the Masses this weekend. Anyone who prefers to continue wearing masks in church is encouraged to do so. KN95 masks are available at the church entrances. Let us continue prayer for one another and support each other as we continue to move through the pandemic. Have a blessed week, Fr. Dan
