From the Desk of Fr. Dan (January 8/9, 2022) Today we celebrate the feast of the Baptism of the Lord which concludes the Christmas season. On Monday we will begin Ordinary Time which will last until Ash Wednesday (March 2) the first day of Lent. The term Ordinary Time comes from the Latin Tempus per Annum (time during the year). In Ordinary Time we focus on the ministry of Christ in a general way. In the other liturgical seasons, we focus on specific aspects of the life and ministry of Christ. This Wednesday, January 12, is our next pasty sale. You can email or call in your order. Please note our new email address for pasty orders: [email protected]. Special thanks to all our dedicated volunteers who make these delicious pas-ies. If you would like to volunteer to help make the pasties please let me know. January is Poverty Awareness Month. Visit PovertyUSA [http://www.povertyusa.org/] for education on economic justice, resources for prayer, and key conduits for action. We are getting close to our UPCSA goal for this year. Thank you to everyone who made a pledge so far! We would like to receive a response from every parish family. Thank you for your faithful stewardship! Thank you to all who support the Society of St. Vincent de Paul by generously using your monthly collection envelopes or donating groceries for their food pantry. Bags of groceries can be placed in the bins near the entrances. Sincerely yours, Fr. Dan
